Drum lessons now available….! Further to the successful Drum Workshop and Open Day by Slater Music School (23 March), all children were given the opportunity to play the drums during the course of the day and the resulting feedback has been very positive. We are therefore pleased to be introducing drum tuition to the school, available to children of all years, during the school day. The drum teacher will be Ben Dumpleton. SMS already teach drums (and other instruments) at numerous schools across Wiltshire, and are based at St Johns Academy in Marlborough for private tuition after school hours. They have a website for further information http://www.slatermusicschool.uk/ and a brochure is attached.
Free Taster Lesson In the first instance, every child at Woodborough (all ages) is welcome to a free taster session with Ben. Please contact the school office or register directly on SMS’s website http://www.slatermusicschool.uk/joinbookfree. The free taster sessions will commence next Monday (27th March), so book your place as soon as you can.
Prices For ongoing lessons, we are pleased to have agreed reduced introductory rates as follows: – 20 mins, One-to-one: £11.00 – 30 mins, One-to-one: £14.00 – 30 mins, Pairs £8.75 (Per person) (Reviewable each Sep).
Required Materials – SMS will have all necessary equipment in the lessons so nothing would be required to begin. – On enrolment SMS supply a starter pack including initial Learning Materials and Lesson/Practice Diary (Initial charge). – Drum sticks are available (£5).
Do I need a drum kit? A drum kit is not necessary at home to commence. Practice can be on hands/knees/pillows/cushions etc. Of course a drum kit would be ideal, and maybe something for the future, but not essential to commence and have a go!
