Reading Showcase
Join us for an engaging Reading Showcase where we’ll explore innovative strategies to inspire young readers. This event will highlight best practices in developing a reading for pleasure culture from phonics to fluency, through expert insights and real-life classroom examples. Discover how to create a reading-rich environment and encourage a lifelong love for reading. Ideal for teachers, English leads and school leaders, this showcase offers practical ideas to take back to your classroom.
"Reading is a priority from the moment pupils join the school. Pupils quickly learn the sounds they need to read accurately. Highly effective teaching and carefully chosen books build pupils’ reading fluency and confidence. Pupils who need extra help receive this straight away.
In the Reception Year, pupils know some stories and rhymes well. This cultivates an early appreciation of reading. Older pupils go on to read a broad range of texts, from poetry to non-fiction books. Leaders have thoughtfully selected books to broaden pupils’ understanding of difference and diversity."
